Nova Talent are delighted to be working alongside our client, a world leading provider of Communication Solutions within the Aviation & Defence sectors. Together we are recruiting a Supply Chain Manager to lead the Supply Chain Team and hold accountability for the procurement and management of suppliers to the business.
The successful candidate will hold experience of working within global supply chains, have strong negotiating and influencing skills with the ability to develop the supply chain strategy, ensuring cost reductions without compromising quality.
A bit about what you will be doing:
- Optimise the Company's supply chain strategy and performance to ensure continuity of supply, competitive pricing at the required quality standard and a strong working capital position
- Analyse spending patterns to identify cost reduction opportunities, and implement strategies to achieve savings while ensuring continuous supply at the required quality standard.
- Deliver an optimised cost base in the product portfolio through the timely completion of the annual product re-cost programme, ensuring negotiations with suppliers secure a competitive commercial position for the company's products within the marketplace.
- Coordinate and maintain a vendor approval system, undertaking the supporting activities with relevant stakeholders across the business.
- Monitor commodity pricing and market trends, identifying trends enabling a competitive advantage.
- Develop the department's skills base to ensure the resources needed to achieve the company's strategy and objectives, both short- and long-term, while fostering professional development and departmental expertise.
- Provide effective support to the bids team by negotiating competitive pricing with suppliers of non-portfolio items and flowing down applicable terms and conditions to suppliers and subcontractors
- Develop a supportive and collaborative team working environment.
What we are looking for:
- Degree in Business Studies, Supply Chain Management or other related discipline.
- Proven experience in international procurement and supply chain preferably within a technical manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge within Electronics (Preferable).
- Experience in team leadership and management.
- Expertise in procurement and logistics strategies.
- Strong negotiation skills and commercial acumen.
- Knowledge of contract terms and conditions.
- Member of CIPS
- Demonstrable experience leading a supply chain team in a manufacturing organisation using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) applications.
