About this role
Nova Talent is partnering with a leading engineering and technology organisation to recruit a Senior Project Engineer. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer with strong project coordination skills to lead complex product development activities from concept through to manufacture.
Working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, you'll play a key role in planning, coordinating, and driving project delivery, ensuring technical, commercial, and operational objectives are achieved.
As a Senior Project Engineer, you will coordinate development activities across multiple projects, acting as the link between engineering, operations, supply chain, and programme management teams.
Key responsibilities include:
- Planning, coordinating, and tracking engineering project activities across the product lifecycle.
- Supporting the creation and maintenance of key project documentation, including project plans, release plans, and statements of work.
- Managing schedules, milestones, resources, and project dependencies.
- Monitoring project risks and ensuring appropriate mitigation actions are in place.
- Coordinating prototype builds, engineering materials, and development equipment.
- Working with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure projects remain on track.
- Managing third-party development activities and supplier deliverables.
- Facilitating project review meetings and reporting project status to stakeholders.
- Supporting roadmap delivery and departmental resource planning.
- Driving continuous improvement and helping identify opportunities to improve engineering processes and performance.
We are looking for a technically strong engineer who combines excellent organisational skills with the ability to coordinate projects and influence stakeholders across the business.
Requirements
- Degree qualified (2:1 or above preferred) in Engineering, Electronics, Software, Physics, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience within a design engineering, product development, or project engineering environment.
- Strong understanding of the product development lifecycle, from concept through to manufacture and product introduction.
- Experience using project planning tools such as MS Project, Jira, or similar.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver projects against challenging deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving and risk management capabilities.
Desirable Experience
Experience in areas such as electronics, RF and communications systems, embedded systems, software or firmware development, FPGA technology, Digital Signal Processing (DSP), New Product Introduction (NPI), ERP/MRP systems, manufacturing environments, and CAD or mechanical design tools would be advantageous. Exposure to project planning tools such as MS Project, Jira, or similar platforms would also be beneficial. Applicants are not expected to have experience across all of these areas; a broad technical foundation and a willingness to learn are equally important.
